Qasr-e Bahram Caravanserai

Deep inside the Kavir National Park stands Qasr-e Bahram, a stone caravanserai from the Safavid era, built on the old route across the desert. With its strong walls and arched rooms around a central courtyard, it offered travelers safety and rest in one of the emptiest landscapes in Iran.

The Dasht-e Kavir

The Dasht-e Kavir, Iran’s Great Salt Desert, covers a vast area of the central plateau. Its salt flats, dunes and star-filled night skies make it unforgettable.

The Abr Forest: The Cloud Forest

Near Shahrud, on the slopes of the eastern Alborz, lies the Abr Forest, whose name means “cloud.” Moist air from the Caspian rises over the mountains and settles in the valleys, so visitors often stand above a sea of clouds with ancient Hyrcanian trees around them.
