The Design

Front: the historic gorge of Tang-e Balqis with the snowy peaks of Mount Dena behind, finished with the province name.

Mount Dena

The Dena range is one of the highest parts of the Zagros Mountains, with peaks rising to around 4,400 meters. Snow covers its summits for much of the year, and its slopes are a protected area rich in wildlife, rare plants and clear springs.

Tang-e Balqis

The historic gorge of Tang-e Balqis is one of the many dramatic passages carved through the mountains of the province, a landscape of steep rock walls and old routes that connected the highlands with the plains.

The Yasuj Waterfall

In the provincial capital of Yasuj, water falls over moss-covered rocks among trees and gardens, a cool and beloved spot for families on summer evenings.

The Oaks of the Zagros

The Persian oak forests that cover the Zagros are among the most important forests in Iran. They give the region its character, and for centuries they have sheltered nomadic families and provided food, shade and wood.
